Quick answer
- Good fit for: budget-conscious beginners, side projects and small sites where you are happy to pay several years upfront.
- Less good for: anyone who wants a low monthly price without a long commitment, or prefers cPanel.
- Price checked 1 November 2026: from £1.49 a month on a 48-month term (£71.52 upfront, without VAT), renewing at £7.99 a month.

The renewal question
Hostinger's headline prices are for a 48-month term paid in one go. That is a genuinely low cost per month, but two things are worth knowing:
- You pay upfront. The Single plan is £71.52 on day one, not £1.49.
- Renewal is much higher. The Single plan renews at £7.99 a month, more than five times the introductory rate. Premium renews at £10.99 and Unlimited at £13.99.
Over four years Hostinger is still cheap. Just put a reminder in your calendar before renewal and compare the market then. Our hosting cost calculator shows how the numbers add up.
What is included
- hPanel, Hostinger's own control panel, rather than cPanel
- WordPress, an AI website builder and Node.js support
- Free SSL, malware scanning, domain privacy and IP and country blocking
- A CDN and LiteSpeed servers
- Free website migration with help from support
- 24/7 support and a 30-day money-back guarantee
Free domain terms vary by plan, and some mailboxes are only free for the first year, so check what renews at full price at checkout.
Which plan makes sense
For a single small business site, Premium is the sensible floor: three sites leave room for a staging copy or a second project. If backups matter to you, and for a business site they should, the Unlimited plan is the first with daily backups.
VAT: what you actually pay
Hostinger's UK site states that its prices are listed without VAT. If you are not VAT-registered, add VAT at the standard rate of 20% to the upfront figure to see what leaves your account. If you are VAT-registered, you can usually reclaim it as a business expense.
| Plan | Upfront for 48 months, without VAT | With VAT at 20% |
|---|---|---|
| Single | £71.52 | £85.82 |
| Premium | £114.72 | £137.66 |
| Unlimited | £157.92 | £189.50 |
| Cloud Startup | £383.52 | £460.22 |
The 30-day refund in detail
Hostinger's refund policy says products can be refunded only if cancelled within 30 days of the date of the transaction, and that date includes the date a renewal is processed. Hosting plans are covered, apart from the first payment after a free trial. A few things are excluded or have their own rules:
- Domain renewals and transfers are not refundable.
- A new domain registration can only be refunded within 96 hours of registering it.
- Privacy protection and some add-ons, such as Google Workspace email, are not refundable.
So if you are trying Hostinger out, decide within the first month, and remember that a "free" domain may not come back with the refund.
Who Hostinger suits, and who it does not
Hostinger makes most sense if you want the lowest possible cost over several years, are comfortable paying upfront and are happy to learn a control panel that is not cPanel. It is a reasonable home for a first WordPress site, a small brochure site or a side project. It is less suited to a business that wants to spread costs monthly without a long commitment, would rather have a UK-based host with phone support, or plans to move hosts within a year or two, because the low price depends on staying for the full term.
Before you buy: a quick checklist
- Choose the term you will really stay for. The headline prices are for 48 months, so check the price for the term you pick.
- Note the renewal price and the date your term ends, and set a reminder a month before.
- Check whether the domain and mailboxes are free for the whole term or only the first year.
- Pick a plan with the backups you need. Daily backups start on Unlimited.
- Add VAT if you are not VAT-registered, then compare the total with our hosting cost calculator.
