Calculating…

How to read the result

The calculator spreads costs by month: it charges the introductory price for the introductory period and the renewal price after that. Many hosts make you pay the whole introductory term upfront, so your first payment may be larger than the "first year" figure suggests. For example, Hostinger's Single plan was £71.52 upfront for 48 months when we checked.

Domain costs vary by extension and registrar. A .co.uk or .com domain typically costs somewhere around £5 to £20 a year; check the exact renewal price before you buy, because first-year domain offers often renew higher.

Frequently asked questions

How much does website hosting cost in the UK?
Shared hosting for a small business site ranged from about £1 to £19 a month on the UK plans we checked in November 2026, before VAT where stated. The introductory price can be much lower than the renewal price, so compare both.
Why is the renewal price so much higher?
Many hosts discount the first term heavily to win customers, then charge the regular price when the plan renews. Some hosts, such as Krystal, keep the same price on monthly billing.
Should I add VAT?
If the host shows prices excluding VAT and your business is not VAT-registered, add 20%. VAT-registered businesses can usually reclaim it.
