Grow & Guard is a UK website that helps small business owners, sole traders and freelancers make better choices about the tools they use to get online, run their business, manage money and stay secure.
Why we started
Most comparison content about hosting, software and VPNs is written for a US audience, quotes dollar prices and ignores things that matter in the UK, such as VAT, Making Tax Digital, FSCS protection and UK data centres. We wanted a site that starts from the UK reader's point of view and is honest about what it has and has not checked.
Who writes our guides
Our guides are written and maintained by the Grow & Guard editorial team. We research each topic from primary sources: the provider's pricing pages, plan comparison tables, terms, help centre articles and, for regulated topics, official sources such as GOV.UK, HMRC, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) and the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).
What we promise
- Dated facts. Every price we quote says when we checked it, with a link to the official page.
- No invented testing. We say "we compared published features and prices" because that is what we do. If we ever run our own tests, we will describe them in full.
- Renewal prices, not just offers. Introductory prices can be a fraction of the renewal price. We show both where the provider publishes them.
- Clear advertising. Affiliate links are marked Ad, and every page that has them says so at the top.
- Corrections. If you spot something out of date or wrong, tell us and we will check and fix it.
What we do not do
- We do not give personal financial, legal or tax advice. Our money guides are general information.
- We do not accept payment for positive coverage or for a place in our rankings.
- We do not publish investment promotions.
